Anna the Girl Scout

We have had some extremely exciting stuff happening lately for our girls!  Anna has been hoping to join the Girl Scouts for over a year now, and we finally have her on her way!  She is a Brownie now!  Here she is repeating their theme, or something like that... (I still have to learn all the lingo).

She was spun around and told to look at herself in a pond... again, something very specific that I don't remember, but it felt really formal.  Then she was declared a Brownie!

Now she gets to wear her Brownie vest and beanie with pride!  She can't wait to get a bunch of patches!  

The coolest part of all this is that I, Anna's mother who loves her enough to make sure she gets to be a Girl Scout even though they told us there would be no troop in our area, will be one of her troop leaders!  Another mom who I met there at the "Investiture Ceremony" was just as frustrated as I was that our girls were going to be on a waiting list, and we decided to take matters into our own hands.  This is the part where you all cross your fingers for us and wish us well, since neither one of us have any idea what to do.  But we are doing it, and we're gonna sell cookies like there's no tomorrow! :)
