My addiction

Cute Emma is 9 months old, and a little angel. I can't get enough of her. Those chubby cheeks, that serious face. There's something about a little girl that makes you work for a smile. It makes a smile mean so much more! I truly feel like I've succeeded when I can get my serious baby to smile. But I love these moments of serious contemplation too. It shows us her personality, which is all Emma, and we love it.

My first baby is nothing of a baby anyomre! What a beautiful little girl she's growing up to be! Anna is 4 years old already. What a beautiful little person she is. We have a very gentle and sensitive little girl in our family, and I can see that she is so loving and caring to those around her. She is always in tune with everyone's feelings, and loves to hug and to comfort. Her imagination is a joy to us, we are always entertained by what that little mind is going to come up with next.

How can you not be addicted to these two blessings? They really are like air to me, my reason for everything, really, everything. There has never been a love this intense in my life, ever. Even when things are rough, and we are having one of those days that makes you want to hide under the bed, or when you wish your name wasn't Mommy anymore, at least for a couple of hours... (I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean), even then they are the greatest, most wonderful little girls ever!

We have a smile!!! Four cute little teeth that just make me melt every time they make an appearance. Oh Emma, you are just too adorable!

Princess Anna! I love your brown eyes even more than you do! (She looks at herself in the mirror and tells herself she has beautiful brown eyes). You are truly nobility, you know that?

So I confess. I have an addiction. A serious problem. Please don't save me from it, there is no cure. This is the best addiction ever!

I love you Anna and Emma, and so does Daddy, and all your grandparents, and all your aunts and uncles. You two are so loved!

I have been working with Anna on personalizing her prayers - saying Thank you" for things we did that day that she liked, and asking for things she really wants the next day. She often prays not to be scared of monsters, or that she can have a fun day the next day, or thank you for Dora the Explorer. Today was a little special though:

Anna:
"Heavely Father, Thank You for this day.
Please bless that tomorrow is Anna's birthday...
and that Anna can open her Piggy Bank.
Name of Jesus Christ Amen.

I love children's prayers because they are so honest. I wish it were my Birthday tomorrow too!

Sweet moment

I know I have been blogging a lot about Anna lately, well, it is her month, so I guess that's why. And she's been saying the cutest things lately and I just don't want to forget them, so here they go.

Last night during dinner Anna looked at me and said:
" I love you, Mommy."
So I thought for a minute and asked her:
"What does love mean, Anna?"
And without hesitation she smiled and responded by wrapping her arms around herself as if she were giving you a hug, smiled her cutie smile and said: "love means Thank you!"

Anna sure knows how to get to my heart... it just melts for her!

I'll get some good posts of Emma soon! No favorites in this house, we love them both waaaaay too much! :)

Anna's broken heart

After picking up on a conversation I was having on the phone with a friend, about another friend's "broken heart", Anna tells me:

Anna: Mommy, do you know my heart broke sometimes?

Me: It did? What happened?

Anna: It just broke mommy.

Me: How sad! And what did you do?

Anna: I just have to fix it.

Me: And how do you fix a broken heart, Anna?

Anna: You just get a new one.

Me: How do you get a new heart, sweetie?

Anna: You just paint it, with some paint, and then you put it in your tummy, and then you're done!

Happy Birthday Anna! You're 4!

My very first princess! I can't believe you're already four years old. What a beautiful little girl you are growing up to be! I love that you love princesses, and I have to say you are the cutest of them all! Mommy had so much fun planning this princess party for you!
The best part is to see you enjoy it all so much! Granted, your face on this picture is not the happiest, but I'm starting to learn that you don't pose for pictures very well yet, so we'll try and catch you when you're not looking!
You are so generous with your love, and I love that about you! Your hugs never run out, and I can't wait to see you every morning saying "good morning mommy, Anna had a good nap! Did you have a good nap mommy?" I love how sweet and gentle and kind you are to your little sister Emma. I love that you love to sing and dance, and my favorite part is when you make up beautiful songs to sing to us! The "Anna show" is my favorite show!
We had great treats for your birthday party! Cupcakes and "Tres Leches" cake, and snacks of all sorts. We had a great time eating, and chatting and enjoying the princess that you are becoming! We had our dear friends and family celebrating you with us!
Look at all the gifts you got! We are so grateful to all our dear friends' generosity!

My Anna, so now you're four, and mommy and daddy feel so grateful for the chance to be right there to witness all of your moments in this life. What a privilege it has been to see you grow into such a loving little girl. I still remember when I met you for the first time, and I knew then that my life would never be the same. I hope you know how much we wanted you, and prayed for you to finally come and join our family. You have been the best, the very best thing I have ever created, along with your little sister Emma. So happy birthday Princess Anna. I love you "so very" much. And even though this is your celebration, and you get all the beautiful gifts, I can say that without a doubt I got the best gift of all. I got you.

Great start to my day

This morning as I was getting ready for my day, finished getting dressed, and went down the stairs thinking "I'm so fat", Anna gave me a big hug and said: "Mommy, you're the prettiest mother ever!"

It made my day. Oh how I love my Anna!
