Emma talks to the picture

So I had just given Emma a bath and was changing her on my bed, and she kept looking to the side and smiling and talking, it was starting to freak me out, since I couldn't figure out what or who was catching her eye... and then I figured it out:
Mommy and Daddy, really big, smiling at her! This picture is sitting on a corner in our room, it needs to be framed still... but she seriously sat there for about 10-15 minutes laughing and having the greatest conversation with them!

I think it's because these guys in the picture were such good listeners and never interrupt her! They just sat there and smiled at everything she did!

Oh Emma, you're so cute!

Saving money is so fun!

Some of you may know of my obsession with coupon clipping and finding the best deals out there. Well I was pretty excited this week with my savings, and I thought I'd share:

This was my shop at Albertsons. I got a lot of meat and some other great little snacks and things on sale. The total regular price for all you see here was $87.43 I payed &46.76 Pretty good, huh?

Then I went to Smith's. I bought all you see here, total regular price was $71.20 Guess how much I paid??? $26.34 Yup, that's all!!! Look at all the shampoo and stuff! Check out my steaks! I'm pretty proud of myself.

I have to say that my favorite thing to do when I go to these stores is have them scan everything, see the total, then I give them my customer loyalty card, and watch the numbers go down, down, down... and after that I hand them a pile of coupons and watch my already lower number go lower and lower still! I LOVE IT! I had people in line clap for me once, when I managed to save $113.00 in one shopping trip! It's so cool, the cashiers usually like to look at the bottom of the receipt and tell me my grand total savings.

Yes, I'm a dork. I get a kick out of coupon clipping. But my husband LOVES it that I get such a high out of this. He loves it! So there! ;)

Easter!!!

I hope all of our dear friends had as fun an Easter this year as we did! We had so much fun getting to hunt for eggs in our backyard, and to have the grandparents over looking for eggs with Anna! Emma had a great nap during our egg hunt.
We had a chance to do it twice, once on Saturday with our Sperry side, and on Sunday with the Dutra side and Grandma Sperry. Anna looked adorable in her easter bunny dress and very cute hat the easter bunny left at Grandma and Grandpa's. She had so much fun, and enjoyed all the treats!
Just so you know, Emma was also there, and she had fun getting to be loved by everyone. Emma got her ears pierced for Easter! I know this picture is too far to see, I'll have to post a better one soon, but she looks soooo cute with her little earings!
A few days before easter Mommy and Anna got to color some eggs and decorate them. Well, I had no idea she would become emotionally attached to the eggs! How dare we even talk about eating them! If you look at the picture below you'll see why.
Aren't they cute? They became our egg friends. Anna liked them so much that she felt terribly guilty for accidentally cracking one, and actually prayed that Heavenly Father would watch over the broken egg that night. We neved did eat the eggs... but they have gone to a better place, with their little egg families, where they have a lot of egg fun. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Bath time!

When we found out we were having another girl, it was moments like these that came to my mind. Emma and Anna being buddies and playing together. They have so much fun in the bathtub every night! I know, I'm biased, but my girls are soooo cute!

Emma and Anna both love that fishing pole, and it was funny to all of us that Emma managed to snatch it away! She's going to learn to get her way, I can tell! Anna loves washing Emma's hair, she is such a good helper, and a wonderful big sister!

What can I say... I'm a lucky mama. :)

Holi - Festival of Colors

I'm a little behind on my posting, but this was an event that happened on March 28th. This is the Hindu temple in Spanish Fork, and every year they have the Festival of Colors. It was an amazing experience! If you'd like to know more about it here is the link to the Salt Lake Tribune article.
The highlight of the event is the throwing of the colors, and I have to say, I've never had more fun in my life! It was a liberating experience, and it was even more special because I got to share it with some of my favorite people ever!
Playing with colors and welcoming spring! Wonderful time! Douglas, Pri, John and Nicholette! What a blast!
Aren't we cute all covered in paint? I'm sure everyone in the picture will agree, we HAVE to do this again next year!!! (Maybe I could talk Russ into coming with us next time.... maybe.)
And to continue our culturally diverse fun, we ended the night with the best Chinese food ever! (Thanks to Jenny, who knew this place! I can't believe they let us in looking like this!)

Silly, I know....

But here it is. I took a "Which Jane Austen character are you?" test, and my answer is:

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

I'm not surprised! I've always identified with Elinor Dashwood. If you take this test, come back and tell me what you are!
